Curriculum
Private Pilot Certificate
The private pilot certificate is a qualification that allows individuals to act as pilot-in-command of an aircraft for personal or non-commercial purposes. It involves training in areas such as flight maneuvers, navigation, weather interpretation, and emergency procedures, and requires passing a written exam and flight test conducted by a designated examiner.
Certified Flight Instructor
The certified flight instructor (CFI) rating is a qualification that allows pilots to teach others to fly. It involves extensive knowledge and mastery of aviation topics, teaching techniques, and flight instruction methods. CFI candidates must pass a written exam, demonstrate their flight proficiency and instructional skills during a flight test, and possess a comprehensive understanding of aviation regulations and safety practices.
Instrument Rating
The pilot instrument rating is an additional qualification beyond the private pilot certificate that allows pilots to fly under instrument flight rules (IFR) in low visibility or poor weather conditions. It involves training in instrument flying techniques, navigation, approach procedures, and understanding of aviation weather and regulations. The rating requires passing a written exam and a flight test, including demonstrating proficiency in instrument approaches and simulated instrument flight.
Certified Flight Instructor Instrument
The certified flight instructor instrument (CFII) rating is an additional qualification for flight instructors that allows them to provide instruction in instrument flying and instrument flight rules (IFR) procedures. It requires a deep understanding of instrument navigation, approaches, and the ability to teach students how to safely fly in low visibility conditions. CFII candidates must pass a written exam, demonstrate proficiency in instrument flying during a flight test, and possess a thorough knowledge of IFR regulations and procedures.
Commercial Single Engine Aircraft
The commercial single aircraft certificate is a qualification that allows pilots to fly aircraft for compensation or hire. It involves more advanced training and proficiency in areas such as commercial flight maneuvers, advanced navigation techniques, aircraft systems, and emergency procedures. Pilots must also meet specific flight time requirements and pass a written exam and a flight test conducted by a designated examiner to obtain the commercial single aircraft certificate.
